How do I care for my Clivias
- Ideal 80% shade, 20% sun. Under trees dappled sun, direct soft morning sun, no direct hot afternoon sun which can burn leaves. Indoors, as much as possible indirect sunlight or direct soft morning sun.
- Good airflow assist in general health of the plants.
- Well draining grow medium or soil with composted organic material.
- Water on a regular basis, keep soil moist and don’t let it dry out completely. We water approx. once a week (depending on season and weather).
- A well balanced fertilizer. Plants need food to perform best.
- Ideal temperatures are around 20-30°C (although they can tolerate temperatures from 0°C up to 40°C for shorter periods of time). Clivias are frost sensitive.
- Pests - apply insecticides and fungicides (preventative or as-and-when needed). Common culprits are Mealy bugs, Amaryllis worm and Rot.
